Please help Lilly!

Lilly's mom is totally perplexed by her past, such a wonderful baby who has had such a flood of shit luck. First she was dumped at a high kill shelter, she was the only dog out of 13 to survive a mass euth at Gaston Animal Control. While waiting to be euthanized, she was wisked away by Buddies Rescue in Florida and spent most, if not all of her two years plus at that rescue stuffed in a crate. After much infighting about transport, homestudies, etc., Lilly waited even longer and was finally taken to her foster home where she was to be loved until she went to her furever home.
But once again Lilly's fate was to face yet another battle.
What were originally thought to be lipomas, or fatty tumors common in sr dogs, turned out to be mast cell tumors! Lilly had tumors on her neck, armpit, and thigh. Mast cell tumors are known to metastasize quickly, depending on their 'stage'. Sadly, Lilly had stage 3, or late stage cancer. With the only option being surgery, Lilly had the tumor on her neck removed, as it was the most life-threatening, the tumor under her armpit was removed at the same time, due to the probability of affecting the lymph nodes. The neck surgery was a nightmare of complications. Six weeks later, we aspirated a small lump on her hip, originally thought to be a pressure sore, but mostly healed. Once again, luck was not in Lilly's favor, and this tumor was found to have grown into the deep muscle of her thigh. Nearly 2 square inches of muscle had to be removed, with five layers of sutures, just to hold her leg together.
Presently, Lilly has good days and bad days, but we make the most of them all. She enjoys her friends, human and animal, and we have yet to find someone she doesn't like. She is a joyful girl who is loved by all.
Ruff Life Rescue (a 501c3 Rescue/Donations are tax deductible) has stepped up to sponsor Lilly and help raise the funds needed to pay off her medical bills. Please, even if it's a dollar or two, let's help get this girl her time here so she can finally keep receiving the love she deserved long ago! Thank you!
